Meet the Team

EJ is 10! Celebrating a decade in business at Bar One, The Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay, 10th March 2009.
The ej catering team is as central to the ethos of the company, as the food is itself.
Emma Jenkins – Owner and Director. Emma works on a one to one basis with every client to create a bespoke menu for your event. Though she still does many gruelling days in the kitchen, heads up teams on site or at an event, and also pushes papers in the office. She is very hands on and involved with the growth of the company, and enjoys every aspect.
Nathan Philpott - Head Chef. Nathan has replaced Harry Smith, who has decided to pursue a career change and study law. Nathan is a good friend of Harry and Bethan and came highly recommended. He previously worked at the Crown at Whitebrook and Celtic Manor. He was Head Chef during the launch of The Malsters in Llandaff which won the Brains “Pub of the Year 2010″ award during his time there. It was a big move for him to cross over to catering but he brings with him experience, enthusiasm and lots of exciting menu ideas.
Bethan Coggins – Sous Chef. Beth studied hospitality and catering at college and worked with Harry prior to joining the team at ej catering. She also worked with Sodexho, the largest outdoor catering company in London, and has catered at many prestigious venues such as Buckingham Palace, Royal Ascot and Henley Regatta. Bethan joined the team as Sous Chef in March 2008.
Karen Pearce – Karen was raised and worked within the hospitality industry. When the family business was sold in 2004 she pursued her passion for art, graduating in Contemporary Textile Design 2007. Karen works part time at the office as Office Manager and often works on site at the larger events.
Clare Bartley - Clare is an experienced Administrator and has worked for ej catering since 2003. Clare was previously Office Manager, but now manages the financial side of the business.
Waiting staff – ej catering has a team of dedicated waiting staff with an eye for detail and sense of occasion. The team will work hard to ensure that your event runs as smoothly as possible. For the larger events, we top up staffing requirements using a highly reputable local agency. We work with the agency on a regular basis, and they have a good understanding of the high standards we expect of our staff to run an event.
